Erin is a PhD candidate in the Cell Biology program where she is studying a pediatric bone cancer called Ewing sarcoma. She graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2014 where she studied biology and played lacrosse. In the summer of 2017, Erin founded the graduate student group Women in Science and Education (WISE), which fulfilled an unmet need for a forum where students can discuss ways to achieve gender parity in the academic sciences. WISE was awarded a Campus Action Project grant from the American Association of University Women and receives support from Biomedical Graduate Education. Erin plans to graduate in May 2018 and will pursue a career advocating for diversity and inclusion in STEM.
