Grants

GWA offers grants that provide financial support to individuals and organizations dedicated to helping our Georgetown community learn, grow and thrive.

GWA provides grants to support student, staff, or faculty-led programs, initiatives or events that foster connections, professional development, & gender equity on and around campus. Successful projects are those which:

  • Feature research or projects directed by women and historically marginalized folks at Georgetown
  • Highlight topics of interest to our community at various stages of personal and professional development
  • Connect women and historically marginalized folks at Georgetown across constituencies and academic or professional orientations
  • Encourage cross-campus connections for women at Georgetown

Grant funding may support new initiatives or existing programs. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, programs, lectures, book talks, research, or other similar events. During this period of remote work and instruction, we will consider only initiatives and programs that can be held virtually. Award amounts will vary based on the scope of the project, mission alignment, total project budget, and other sources of funding. Requests for catering and travel will not be permitted at this time, but we will consider requests for speaker honoraria, program materials (e.g., books, article access fees), and technical support as appropriate.

Examples of organizations that we have supported:

  • B.R.A.V.E.
  • Own It Summit
  • TedX Georgetown
  • Women’s Summit

In addition to funding, GWA will provide marketing support for your initiative, including email distribution, social media, website placement, and other forms of outreach. Questions? Contact maria.snyder@georgetown.edu
